bakugo is a terrible person who lacks character. while they may share pride and anger, their core personalities are completely different. bakugo is a bully.
and bakugo’s pride is as you said “how could they beat me?!” while our mc here is more motivated by revenge rather than some silly desire to be the best of the best just because he thinks he’s better than everyone else

That’s EXACTLY how he is, he came back to be the best, to have monopole of the title of first, to dominate the game. He DO think he’s better, or else why would he come back ? You are not being objective, nor honest. You can not like him, that’s on you, he got a nasty temper, I will admit. “Lacks character” ? Did you watch mha through reels ? He is someone who will fight for what he stands with his ideal of justice, just as the mc. I believe, cause I know he wants to save people just as much as every other hero, that if he was there, he would have done the exact same thing as the mc in this manwha. He bullied Izuku as a kid, that will never change, but he is growing, bettering himself and he is doing what he can. They have the EXACT, ideology and personality trait of “lawless hero”
