I don’t pity her

I don’t really feel bad for her. She enabled that behavior. And it’s not that she went to the extents she did, because she wished for her child to be happy and healthy, but because she wanted him to meet her unrealistic expectations. She took him off meds because he didn’t achieve the academic results she wanted him to get. She projects onto him and cannot accept the fact that he just may be a normal child instead of the genius she tried to make him into. MC is right, that is also a form of child abuse. So no, this isn’t about her wanting a normal childhood for him, but about forcing him into delusional expectations she has. She may not be evil and I don’t support what he did to her, but I dont pity her either. Let’s also not forget how many children got hurt because of them both, and how she ruined at least one teacher’s career over nothing but her own delusions.

I honestly don’t pity her either? This is what happens when prideful parents don’t listen and don’t admit their wrongdoing, their ego will backfire on them sooner or later

Exactly. If it was just like before when she actually tried to get him help he needed, then I would feel bad. But since her ambitions were more important than that, you reap what you sow

More like he told her what she wanted to hear. Yeah, no reason to pity her
