I've just finished the whole manhwa, and I don't think the ex was TOXIC. He did say mean things to Shinwoo(MC) when they broke up, but it was never implied that he treated Shinwoo badly, hence the smile that Han(ML) saw 7 yrs before they got reunited.
And don't worry, although some said that it was boring, in my standpoint the story was just realistic. The characters we're behaving like real people with real personality.
This manhwa is definitely something worth reading. It's worth taking time to understand the characters way of thinking and personality.
Damn talk about a crazy 2 days, just finished ch 21, how does Mc get confessed, get depressed about an annoying aunt, helped by Mc, accept the confession, and while struggling mentally about it, the apparently toxic ex decides to call him then? Let him enjoy something author!
I wish he would talk everything out soon because you can't be in a relationship if you already think it's going to end, it's not fair for him, or ML.
I do think ML was an idiot, but Mc didn't help the situation either (though is completely understandable why he's not emotionally ok then and even now). So I can't blame only the Ml for them drifting apart. Clearly, both of them are scared of getting hurt by the other walking away which ends up making it happen.
