I love the direction this went in, went in dry not knowing anything besides the title and artist (should've been a clue) and was expecting a literal ghost. What we got was a psychotic and broken Mc who felt haunted by the ghost of the one he murdered. The twist was so good! The friends acted like nothing was wrong until they caught him and I didn't expect to see Murasaki's decaying corpse still buried in that one panel. The ghost was all in his head.
Usually we get some supernatural aspect with these stories but it was refreshing to see something real albeit tragic and cruel. The metaphor for the eyes seeing right through him and following him around after death was brilliant. His self hatred turned murderous.
