actually his mom decided to abandon him to get a better life by leaving him with his father who really hated him for being an useless alpha (as u can remember he was an alpha before dojin) and then treated him really badly so he despise his mother (byul’s granma) for this. then after years his mom decided to appear out of nowhere just to ask for forgiveness as nothing ever happened. hope this helps^^
