Yeeees, like, there's no weird "he's only crazy near the uke the rest he is perfectly normal", he's a consistent character, with consistent triggers. That and the art makes this an easy sell
Also, no need to feel weird, it's a VERY well written story, and to the moment it's being pretty respectful to the real life issues (not to say that works that are less realistic are necessarily disrespectful, mostly resignifies it in their worldbuilding so they can dance around the concept, but some truly are disrespectful).
I personally am very happy to find the Rape scenes uncomfortable. I've seen uncomfortable Rape scenes, but mainly because the author made it both realistic and yet still framed as you'd do a normal smut (eg Profundis).
For anyone who can handle heavier themes in yaoi I'd say this is a must read atm.

But this ML in particular just has that special blend of crazy that’s unnerving because it feels way too realistic? Like he’s genuinely truly crazy and delusional and his expressions just sell it. His obsession just feels so true to life lol.
