I have a cousin who's exactly like the uke and believe me, it's not that easy for them to not be scared to people whom they think isn't close with them. Indeed they need to change but actually what the seme did is a good person for him to change.

that's how it is. social anxiety is more than just having trouble in communicating with others. and besides, he's not comfortable to the people around him yet. you cannot demand what isn't provided.
From the raws I’ve read. MC liked the sports gymnastics ever since he was a child, due to his perseverance he received and won many medals from competitions, and by then was recognized by the media in that space, but nobody know not even his parents know that he was abused by his coach for years. I think this is when he developed his social anxiety thing, bec He was kinda like a mini celebrity back then he was good with that sport, and his whole life as a kid was televised as a life story, his success, hard work, and also his abuse was known by the entire nation. That’s why he’s known as the nations athlete or something bec they sympathize with him, and a lot of kids his age look up to him, bec he’s really good with gymnastics even though his coach was abusive, but he never give up or something like that. That’s why he has so many fans growing up, even the people in that university and ML is also really curious about MC bec contrary to his personality and the things he went through, MC was known as a very shy athlete. And everyone thought he was acting in television, but in real life they realized he was genuinely shy. Also one of the reason why ML was kinda drawn to MC, like he wants to protect MC subconsciously bec he’s like awkward and scared all the time. Lol.
