I can't find it!!!! Pls help me

I so remember the little girl being the main character and maybe living with her uncle and thinking that her father had abandoned her and she was working for them. The uncle also has a daughter and the main character's father showed up and took her away. Then it turned out he didn't leave her, he just had to go away for a while. He also sent her clothes for her birthday, but her uncle's daughter wore them and maybe sent money, but that wasn't spent on her either. This is all I remember, can anyone help?
