Same here my country's conservative too, in my country even if you're a year or 2 older you're supposed to address them as 'baa' like how SK use unnie.
I'm 20 and I'm friends with and know people who are decades older and none of them talks like that except for some old people here who also feels like they have the right to scold you whenever they want.
It's fine I don't dislike her as a character for it I just felt it would've been better if she said it a few times less and thought it in her head to show being her conflicted about the situation.
South Korea is a seniority-based country, a product from confucianism. Age is a sensitive issue in SK, when they meet a new acquantaince, and they cant tell the age based on appearance, the first thing they do is their age so they know how to address them properly with the correct honorifics. If your country is conservative then consider SK is more conservative than your country.
yeh. i'm less on the /it's cultural!/ bandwagon and more on the: mincheol kept treating her like a washed up old aunty, she feels like it with how much she gets berated by drunk entitled old pervs at her part times, just being broke and exhausted on the daily probs adds to it, and then that brief moment she kind of started to get past it; her bitch ass jelly little coworker was like "HE CAN'T POSSIBLY LIKE YOU! YOU'RE OLD! AND MARRIED! UR AN AHJUMMA! HE'D LIKE SOMEONE YOUNG. /LIKE MEEEE./" so i think that one sent her spiraling back down the aunty rabbit hole. then she walks in on shit head and some young thing. must have added to the complex. BUT FR. IT ANNOYS ME A TON TOO HOW SHE KEEPS SAYING IT. but i'm more annoyed at her like /i'm so unattractiiiiive so washed up and homely and old~/ -the ho who's built like some Japanese gravure model. look in a mirror, lady. i don't care how much you've been brain washed by ur ex-husband. mirror and eyes EXIST.
Why does she keep talking about age like all the time, I know it fits the situation and maybe insecurity too but if she just thinks about it in her mind instead of saying it I would like it more. It'll feel like saying that's a complex for her and she can't get it out of her head but when she says it so many times and she reminds me of my aunt, especially when she talked about scolding.
I fear she'll grow into the type of old people that I dislike lol
