Istg there is nothing quite like reading for pure entertainment & not caring for the characters, it's hilarious reading the chapter taking itself so serious then turning around to these comments (≧∀≦)
That being said, however;
I do believe Jichan is acting this delulu is because of Stockholm syndrome, his previous obsession that already took over his entire life, mental exhaustion making him more prone to poor decision making, & possibly the worst of all; love/personal bias. It's sad but true 4 these poor, unfortunate souls ╮(￣▽￣)╭
