I respect your opinion. Just want to say it's similar to saying you're a woman first before anything else. Before she's their mother, she's Ayla and vice versa for Frede. They need to still date and make time for each other. That's how a marriage survives especially when children become grown.

I respectfully disagree. She is first and foremost her own person, which includes being Frede's wife. Your wife is always first. Why do you think the christian vows say "till death do us part"?
If your partner becomes second after you have kids, then that's not your husband or lover but a sperm bank. Marriages fail because once children are born, people make them the center of everything they do, lose who they are in the mean time and subsequently many many marriages sour.
There's way more failed marriages than successful ones. I should know. I'm the child of a married couple that didn't divorce "because of the kids". We'd have been better off
