It’s always interesting to read stories where authors try to explore complicated relationships/topics, and I feel like the author of this story does care about their characters - but the final results of all these relationships feel hollow.
The little otaku forgiving his bully immediately is disappointing. For me, it would have been more interesting to see how they would have rebuilt trust - especially since the end result is to get back together.
The blue haired dude’s story would have also been really interesting to flesh out as well. Even if the weight/past stayed a secret for the rest of their lives - it would have been cool to read how blue hair lived with the knowledge that his love is conditional. Like being intimate with someone who called you a pig/monster cannot be good for the psyche.
The MC relationship was interesting all up until the rape. Like that’s huge. Having classmates plot your rape, film it, and then your partner turning their back on you when you’re experience that level of harm is nuts. Like how does a person bounce back from that. Especially after that touching/emotional water scene just before. Devastating.
Even exploring the ML psychosis would have been interesting. Definitely more interesting then a girl in bl being creepy, abusive, and homophobic, all in the name of love. -_-
