There are many right points you make. I Just think that the jealousy trope makes sense because of two Things: Our cute MC IS really childish and doesn't know much about relationships - a Problem on its own, but oh well... And Mr Kang never felt like that before. He was always Dating older women who left him at some point and he was mature about it. Him realising he can't deal with the same rn means more to him than any bad, toxic seme who doesn't deserve happiness.
People were pretty chill (not really but more so than this) with Yiyoung “borderline cheating” (not cheating but felt like it due to the way Yiyoung was behaving, knowing the other dude apparently likes him. Yiyoung lied but quickly went over, and told the truth. Of course Kang reacted too harshly). But once this reveal of Doyeon liking Kang happened, WA BOOM I don’t like it.
Doyeon pissed me off so much earlier out of the three, I won’t lie. And I just think instead of jealousy, Kang can realize how much he wants Yiyoung to be his forever in another way instead of realizing through jealousy. It feels shallow to realize love through jealousy.
Jealousy trope is overused, childish, and annoying. I don’t like seeing my partner jealous, I want to make sure they are loved and know that. Why do some people enjoy making someone jealous?
Kang isn’t even a bad person (besides some moments) in the fiction world. That’s probably why I don’t like the jealousy on his face, it feels uncomfortable.
THE ONES WHO SHOULD BE JEALOUS AND CHASE AFTER MC IS: Jaekyung from Jinx, and so many other trash MLs that play around, don’t apologize or own up to their mistakes, etc.
Also, hate me but Dan is annoying. I need to see him run away from Jaekyung, and don’t take him back easily. Jaekyung deserves to boil himself in jealousy and regret.
Jaekyung can fall in a ditch. Stupid parentless man.
