OH MY GOD... so in side 2, Euntak says it's his first time in a private room, and he seems worried that it's too pricey. And Dojae just stares at him without saying anything. I didn't understand why, until I reread and got up to chapter 33, when Euntak was hospitalized after protecting Dojae from that classmate with the knife. Euntak says the same thing, saying it's his first time in a private room, worries that it's expensive, and says he doesn't understand why he gets a private room since his injury wasn't that bad. Dojae's response?
"It's to make me feel better. So please just stay here..."
We already know Dojae loves him and worries for him. And he was openly able to express his concern the first time he got injured. But that was such a different situation from now. Euntak as he is now sees Dojae as a stranger. Dojae, aware of this, is probably holding back so he doesn't overwhelm/scare Euntak away. But it's having the opposite effect, because it comes across as him not caring, which scares Euntak even more.
I had to share because I forgot about the hospital scene and I liked that the author did a call back to it.
