still a bad guy, a horrendous one at that - it wasn't "only" the cheating, but putting HIS debt over HER head too and using her as a money machine for his booze and luxuries while completely neglecting and emotionally abusing her after the multiple traumas. now he's even plotting to use the new girl for the same thing. example of social heritage from his family if anything. still a bad guy.
Still he didn’t and never loved her, he just pitied her.
If u read the early chapters of mincheol talking about haesoo as a “flower he picked carelessly” means that he didn’t love her, they were young, she is pretty, and since he saw her as someone pitiful and needed protection he got attracted. You don’t describe your first love as something “careless“ it’s supposed to be fluttering than that in some kind of way. Mincheol was broken himself, he didn’t have a perfect family either so i think that’s how he got attached to haesoo since he saw himself to her. He wasnt a bad guy, it just happened that they weren’t meant for each other and instead of healing it became toxic. Love can hurt, but not everyday, and not on purpose. That guy knew what he was doing, knowing haesoo was suffering, trapped, and lonely. Still he choses to continue looking the other way and cheated.
