
You are missing the point. I was not talking about people who are fine with placeholder. And you asked why would they say that and I gave you a straight up answer: You asked for an answer and I gave you what you asked for. Simple.
Now, to the point. If someone asks you why this cat speaks and someone is saying "well, my cat doesn't speak", it is normal to say "we are not talking about your cat".
