one span is approx. the distance between your thumb and pinkie when you spread them out on your hand

Thanks, but on the last page of the most recent update, there's a picture of the author's hand up against a ruler to show what one span would be in South Korea. I meant that I couldn't read the numbers on that ruler. :)
