He has Stockholm syndrome
I mean I get that but the shift happened so quickly. Like within the same chapter he went from wanting to get out of that man’s house to how he is now. I feel like they should have taken time to show him developing the syndrome.
Some of the symptoms of Stockholm syndrome are still feeling affection for or attachment to the abuser, even changing their mind about leaving or staying, helping the abuser in any way, and distrusting or being angry toward those trying to help them.
different people develops at different pace because the human brain is complex, his sudden change in behaviour is not uncommon at all
I just do not understand why he’s acting like this. This sudden shift in his behavior is so random to me. A few chapters ago he wanted to get away from this man. Now all of a sudden he cannot be without his abuser and treats the guy who was nothing but nice to him like an asshole.
