that’s kinda how stolkholm starts. its a way of coping and surviving. the reason some commenters are noting it, is probably because he keeps saying how he’s left ‘alone’.
my guess: will he use the chance when he’s asleep with him to escape? absolutely. but then he’ll probably get punished and left alone again like before. then he’ll start wanting to escape less and less in fear that true isolation will come as punishment.
you can tell from his dialogue that he’s also feeling ‘emotion’ for his kidnapper, and is kinda just chalking it up to wanting to escape, but we can clearly start to see he’s developing stockholm syndrome as he’s becoming more dependent on him. um, kinda long but he does check out a lot of boxes. he suppresses his anger to please said abductor, but can’t help and react in fear when he believes he’s going to be isolated again. i feel like he’s still in the early stages!
im confused some of the other comments thinks that ray is into the ml or developing stockholm syndrome when it is clear that hes doing all that for winter to trust him enough to be able to go outside. also he doesnt want shit to happen again just like last time when winter didnt come for him for days with no food and just staring into the void, he nearly lost his mind
