Everyone's feeling bad for her but be realistic most of the game has advantage and weakness in stages. Certain stages has a required elements or roles, so taking fire into water theme is really disadvantageous for the party, replacing her was a good decision.
Maybe after they finished the mission the master will bring her back to party one.
This kind of game is very common, you build a character, use them on advantage, replace them if they are in disadvantage. There is also comps that you can take advantage on like how their skills can benefit for the team.
