I acknowledge that I am reading stuff that I couldn’t have and I am thankful but this story was very disappointing. First, the story cover lures you in making you think it’s a cute “another world car camping story”, and a lot of us love this genre and jump into the story as there isn’t a lot of that genre with great art. Do NOT be fooled, this is a harem with weird pedo vibes (I do not care that a character is considered an adult in the other world).
First scene, Kyara appears and it’s already a bit questionable because the first thing he does is touch her tail (like who does that?) and that’s such a harem protagonist action… And I was right, it IS a harem story. Harem and camping stories just don’t mix because there will always be a weird focus on the girls being “kawaii” and the boring ass MC self-insert being “kya kya”. What’s worse, she is 16! I do not care that she is an adult and apparently “more mature” than the MC. It’s even weirder because there is a scene where the MC serves coffee to Kyara and she’s blowing on the mug of coffee because it is hot. She sees MC staring and goes: “I’m cute huh?”
MC BLUSHES AND THINKS “ NO I AM NOT A LOLICON”…. And then says she’s still a kid because she likes things sweet. Did I mention she keeps saying she is an adult? Then they have a scene where they verbally fight and I have to say that it’s actually a pretty good fighting scene. Two character with opposing opinions about life and how you should live it, and I think that it’s well-executed. I don’t like how they lowkey used this scene to make it look like “wow… Kyara is an adult!” and she worked more years than the MC.
As much as I hated it those parts, I could see some potential coming from the story. I continued reading hoping things would change and those weird parts are only temporary. This manga has great art execution, the way they handled the manga paneling is both expressive and amazing and I think there is hella potential with the mystery plot (MC can travel between is OG world and the new one) + the self-improvement plot of the MC becoming a better and more fulfilled version of himself…. IF THE NEXT TIME HE TELEPORTED TO ANOTHER WORLD WASN’T ALSO WEIRD AS HELL.
It’s an ACTUAL kid this time, as far as we know and in the MC’s mind (still doesn’t make it less weird, what I’m saying is that it could he a spirit or something), and THIS was my breaking point. It wasn’t weird until there comes a scene where he serves her some water and the wind blows…. There is legit almost a full page of the kid’s face and eyes and how her hair is flowing and the MC thinks “wow she is beautiful”.
Like HUH?
What the HELL was that, why did they dedicate a whole page to show the “beauty” of a kid? Not only that the chapter right after, the cover is SUPER weird. I don’t like how they’re displaying this kid to not be a kid and more a “mystical figure” because it detaches the kid from her identity as a… KID! Not only that, the MC keeps thinking of Kyara. NOT ONLY THAT, THE MC HAD A PANEL WHERE HE WAS LIKE THINKS OF HER AS HER “IMAGINARY WIFE” (he thinks his whole interaction with her was false as he transport back and forth from one world to another, and when he transports back - the time barely changed).
I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT-
The cover fooled me and I was too excited to read the tags… I CURSE YOU HAREM! Thank you for the translations but I still HATE IT!
