God allows Humans free will and hopes that we choose to be righteous. God doesn’t want control what we OPT to do. Which is also why this character isn’t really stopping FL from what she wants to do. No matter what form, we will be tempted, tried, etc. and how we respond to that? Is up to US, even if it’s against the will of God. God will simply empower you to destroy yourself then. Not because of enjoyment but because, ultimately, He respects what you choose to do for yourself which you can argue, is the highest form of love. It just looks like a sick paradox because Humans may opt to do sick things that aren’t good for themselves or others or even mankind. And a further paradox that you’d be asking for God to make everyone righteous, then, which is exactly what you hate about this character Horatia — no? Lol
You said so much. I do not even have the energy to finish reading it. I don't believe in the existence of god. Period.
And this one makes me even more doubtful. And even if the so-called god exists, He doesn't care and perhaps just enjoys himself while watching the people suffer on all sorts of suffering.
