I also have to add on that this story would’ve benefited a lot from more chapters on MC and ML being a couple and ML just being smitten with MC while MC is a little shy but happy. I love that dynamic, but sadly, the story ended when they got together :’)
I have to say, this wasn’t as toxic as the review I read from a recommendation described it to be? While what ML said to MC was mildly homophobic, you have to remember that they live in a heteronormative society, so while ML was definitely ignorant and trying to push hetero norms onto the MC, it wasn’t to the level of prejudice or discrimination and ML realized his ignorance too.
The first part about discouraging MC from having sex friends also comes off as closeted or unconsciously jealous to me too, where ML just didn’t want MC to have other people because he was too attached to him and used to being the only one around him, which he later realized was because he liked him romantically. I also get the sense that even if MC was discovered to be sex friends with a girl, ML probably would’ve still said something along the lines of “don’t have a sex friend, don’t you want a lover who’s there for you instead?” because it was more about his feelings for MC while finding out MC was gay was just an additional surprise factor.
