Me too!!! I agree with this on so many levels omg!! I Also like ji young and jiwoo’s sibling relationship better and I really liked jurion with ji young And romance with action is the worse mix I sweaarrrr like pls don’t add any lovey dovey their friendship was doing just fine, but I get that two badass characters are good and not the usual op ml and cutesy tsundere fl who pouts nonstop but the still romance?? Whyyyy honestly they just gave them talking scenes with each other and made them blush subtly making it the stepping stone for the upcoming relationship but it just doesn’t make sense!! I just don’t like romance in shonen-action
RIGHHHHT even the so called “build up” was lacking bc it wasn’t anything special. the earliest telltale sign of this ship was that juyoung blushes bc of jiwoo but even inhyuk does that. there was an attempt to build this ship from the ground up but i don’t find it good, not to mention it took such a different turn to how i was expecting their relationship to grow. IT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE bc their interaction w each other never really strayed far from discussing the world of awakeneds at all so it may seem like their relationship is that of sibling type relationship where the older looks after the younger. what a bummer
i don’t like this ship at all i know there’s a gradual build up for them and them as end game would also make a lot of sense but personally i like their sibling relationship better. their relationship started with jiyoung looking after jiwoo because he’s a young awakener and it took a weird turn bc now they’re interested in each other, esp joyoung?!!!. there’s build up, but i don’t think i can enjoy the trajectory of their relationship. it took such a weird turn from looking after someone to being interested with them.
i even ship jurion with juyoung because of how jurion looks at her with affection. LIKEEEEE im so sick.
they ruin shounen with half ass attempts to insert romance. i fear shonen writers should leave romance writing to bl authors bc they keep ruining shit. like I LOVEEE ELECEED but this forced romance is my only problem with it. like there are so many things to focus on, so many plot devices to take notice of, we rlly don’t need a romance plot now. jiwoo is literally a highschool kid yall im not tryna read about how he got with a chairwoman a few yrs older than her UGH
I think the only way for me to accept this ship is for a godlike character arc for jiwoo and juyoung but just thinking of reading anything related to romance pisses me awff i just wanna see op characters man
