I started reading This is the Law after finishing Judge Lee Han Young (which isn’t finished yet). It's a good manhwa, but as I got deeper into the story, something started to feel off. By chapter 30, I realized it was the way women were portrayed.
Their facial expressions are often exaggerated, like they’re always on the verge of tears, which feels unnatural and makes it hard to connect with them. On top of that, the women are often shown as weak, with little agency or importance in the story. It feels like they’re there just to highlight the MC's strengths, making the story feel one-sided.
Don’t get me wrong—the story itself has its strengths, and there are plenty of enjoyable moments. But for me, the lack of depth and balance in the portrayal of women somewhat makes me feel off. It’s a small thing that might not bother everyone, but it became more noticeable as I kept reading.
