Jonathan [ the demon ] died in the end since Markoto [ the human that turns into a demon ] surpasses him in becoming a better demon ( if you’re a demon with a lower rank and u say a higher rank demon’s name u die ) so Jonathan says Markoto’s name in the end and died

I haven't started this, is it a good thing or bad thing that the ML died?

Did J want to die? Why did he say Makoto’s name? It’s as if he’s waited to die. I’m so sad.

From what i understood he had been waiting to die for centuries they explained that to live as a high rank demon you want people not to be able to call you by your name but you want ppl to remember it too so you dont vanish and since J lived as nobody and somebody thats how he got so strong but he was slowly being forgotten so having M say his name was kind of a “i wont be forgotten” and he basically accepted his fate and said his name
