nd before ppl start disagreeing nothing about her past nor present situation explained why she tried to get Mr. Kwon a date knowing he was with Ho. like she never explained why she did that. I get she didn’t understand their relationship nd she wasn’t used to it but she never explained why. she just gave a story on how she was neglected. literally nothing she said explained her behaviors like it was just odd and the authors attempt to get conflict in the story.
Sometimes it's just the environment u grow up in man there's rlly no exact explanation. It was prolly an amalgamation of stress, abandonment issues and cultural homophobia. If you grew up in the Korean countryside with the life she had it'd prolly be hard for u to accept ur brother-figure turning out to be queer as well. Granted, I do think you're right that the conflict should've been explained better BUT this is a slice of life manhwa, there are gonna be minor daily life conflicts with side characters (esp since they reside in a deeply homophobic society). Eg. This type of instance can happen irl, smth v similar happened to me and I realized tht sometimes theres no real reason why ppl do certain things. You are going to have to accept these types of conflicts if u continue.
As for what u said to the other commenter, things like what: coming across ppl who are homophobic for no particular reason and refuse to accept and stick their noses in ur business esp in ethnic/conservative cultures is v v normal. One of my relatives legit submitted my pics to a matrimony site bc she believed that I need to get married to the opp sex now (it's not happening I'm gay). But if u were to ask her whether she's homophobic she'd be like no, I just don't accept this from u. Ppl hv weird standards regarding their loved ones + they stick their noses in other ppls business, esp for ethnic families/cultures. Mi-ok grew up seeing Heebom as an older brother figure, it might be been hard for her to accept his sexuality bc of a variety of reasons (could've been better explained yes) but that doesn't make the conflict invalid.
it’s like the author just wanted to add conflict no matter how weirdly useless it was to the main characters lives but i’m glad she had her grandma ig…
