I liked the novel more because it used indisputable facts to force people to realize they were wrong about Edith (and Lize). It seems like this is just going off vibes more. Like "Edith is too nice to do that, I trust her :)" which is pretty lame. At least it seems like they are punishing Cliff more in this version, he got off weirdly easily in the novel, imo.
