OMG ME TOO. I also highly reccomend the Rainbow City novel if you haven't read it yet. Here's the link: https://readhive.org/series/50056/ I can write so many essays on just how well written this was. The Little mushroom novel was a masterpiece but the amount of plot points, twists and thought that was put into the rainbow city novel IS SOMETHING ELSE, I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT.

wow ok! thanks for the link! would you say it goes a lot more in depth compared to the manhwa? also I'm quite particular about language so how did you find the translation quality? i read the official eng translated ebooks for little mushroom and i thought that was quite good. if you read the offical ver as well would you say the translation quality is similar?
also do you happen to have a link for the novel in korean too? i might just read in korean but its not my first language so definitely if the eng novel is good i would choose to read that instead!
you seem to have good taste girl so if you have other recommendations that are not necessarily fantasy or sci-fi pls let me know too

Ofc, so the English translation is a fan translation so it might not be as good as the official little mushroom translation and there’s a few errors along the way but it gets the message out there and definitely understandable.

I also highly recommend the Danmei “Breaking through the clouds 2: swallow the sea” the Manhua is really good, unfortunately it’s not finished cause it’s canceled but the novel I heard, is a masterpiece.
Other recommendations I would have are the Authors other works in this list: https://www.mangago.zone/home/mangalist/2854425/
They are quite slow paced and some of them are on the toxic side but all of them have really really good plots. It’s not for everybody but if you wanna read something that gets your brain cells going, I suggest her works. Those are her manhwa adaptations tho (a lot of them are adapted from her novels like rainbow city), for sci-fi novels of hers I recommend “Perennial Species”. I haven’t gotten a chance to read it yet but the ratings are quite high and I don’t doubt it’s very well written.

omg thank you this was so helpful :")) i lovee slow burn stories and i'm relatively okay with toxic ones (depends case by case?) i did read some of chaepali's other manhwa adaptations and i liked memories of your breath a lot as well, looking forward to the next season!! it's getting so hard to find good stories, feels like a treasure hunt everyday
read this in korean so i'm up to the latest chapter and the season ended at such a critical point in the story im literally going crazy this is so good. pls recommend me more post-apocalyptic/fantasy/sci-fi stories manhwas with good world building, storytelling and character dynamics!!!!!
the only other ones that i've found that are of great quality are
- the promise (按诺)(chinese)
- a trace of the wonder(해의 흔적)(korean)
- radio storm (korean)
everything else seems to pale in comparison and i need something to hyperfixate on before i lose my mind
