So Jonas wasn’t a Winterwauld at all. His mom and the Duke made a deal when the mom got pregnant that he would take her as is wife so she could escape the palace and then after she gives birth(claiming the child as his) she will divorce him and then he can marry her maid, aka Rudiger mom, cuz he’s in love w her but she was a loyal maid to Vanessa. But Vanessa died instead and Rudiger mom lives Vanessa so much she also spoiled Jonas rotten over her own son. Duke was trying to keep a lot of secrets including this one from the Duchess to “protect” her
Also the duke killed Jonas because Jonas said he would "get rid of the duchess" when he became king which is not only treason since he's not close to getting the throne as the son of a duke but also because he doesn't consider the duchess who raised him his mother and the duchess loved Jonas. The duke cared more about him threatening to kill the duchess though so he had ordered a hit on Jonas. Jonas is not really the duke's son he is the son of vanessa and some unknown guy so not a winterwald and not even related to Ruideger. The duchess knew this. The duchess was sad when Jonas died and in the OG novel timeline she got heartbroken when ruideger died as well and she died from the depression it caused her so she actually still cares about ruideger.
(some kind of extra stuff) There's lore about the wishing chalice with gods, the winterwalds and royality involved but that's mostly irrelevant lore stuff at this point.
Luca is (kinda) an incest baby considering both his father and mother are both linked to the royal family they're probably some type of third cousins or something because this all took place during the kings lifetime.
