Really?? A reborn historical romance manhwa where the main heroine has a small power over time, in a shape of an everyday decorative object, that she received from a higher power after her untimely death??? I know all of these villainess Manhwa are different copies of the same concept, but a less interesting copy of an already famous copy is just too much.
Sure, the art style is pretty, but in such an extremely generic way that it's kitsch. Everything is so stiff, the poses and expressions are extremely uninteresting. There's nothing unique here. I'd recognize the art style of "The Villainess reverses the hourglass" anytime, even if they drew characters from a different story. I'd honestly prefer the art to be less refined, because then it'd at least have some character.
The characters are boring. They're so boring I actually can't think of anything to say about them. The kind main character, who you can tell is kind because she's smiling nicely (。◕‿◕。) and not meanly like the other woman(ಡ ʖ ಡ), and not because she actually does anything kind. She's there, she technically has a goal, but you know nothing will come of it and all her problems are going to be solved by coincidence or the male lead. The male lead is just conceptually not great. What tension is there, when he falls for her immediately after reborning??? The villainess mocks the FL publicly and then immediately stabs her afterwards?? What the hell?? There's no motivation, that makes no sense. Either she's in a position that allows her to brag or she's in a desperate position that forces her to kill. I also like how we can note that she's evil based on her showing her cleavage. Very cool and very historically accurate, I can see a lot of effort went into the designs.
Genuinely, if this concept sounds remotely interesting to you, just read "The villainess reverses the hourglass". Sure, the male lead is also kind of boring, but the main character has a strong drive and acts in a way that will achieve her plans and the plotting is genuinely interesting. Already read that?
Consider: The one within the villainess: Beautiful art and very interesting FL that plans the ruin of a kingdom
The broken ring: The FL marries the uncaring cheating ml, but he realizes his mistakes and genuinely repents. I liked it!
Death is the only ending for the villainess: Previously cold MLS and family have to repent in the eyes of the brokenhearted FL!
The Stepmother's märchen: A girl send back on time has to ensure that her family can live a happy life, despite the political troubles surrounding her family! Best art on here imo and very unique
How to get my husband on my side: Cold husband suspects his wife to be a spy for her family, not knowing they abused her. Go read this if you want to see misunderstandings whump!
Read all of these? Well maybe it's time to face the music! When the villainess manhwas were a new concept (I think "The reason why Raeliana ended up at the duke's mansion" made it popular but I don't think it's the first), many authors decided to use it to showcase their unique ideas, characters and stories. But that time has passed, and most people releasing new Villainess manhwas now, are beating a dead horse, because what aspiring author would enter such an overfilled market?? There are obviously still great stuff being released, but it's few and far apart. Which is a shame, because when it's good, it's so good that you understand why everyone's doing it.
