But this time because mo ran voluntered to fight in shi mei's place (knowing he might die)
Chu wanning wouldn't let it slide this time around..
The reason he didn't act the first time to save shi mei was because he really couldn't.. he was on the brink of death himself..

Mo ran on the other hand is his everything, he would die for him.. so he did..

But I think this arc really highlighted the truth to mo ran about chu wanning's true personallity to the point where he can't deny it anymore, thus it's a very important part of the novel

I liked this arc for building up mo ran's fondness for xi sinai (chibi chu wanning)
And when the truth was revealed, at the most painful moment no less, where everything crushed down to the point of no return (chu wanning's death after sacrificing himself for mo ran)
Mo ran will finally understand him
The journey is tough but the reward is satsifying

Conclusion? Mo ran is a dumb husky and chu wanning is a tsundere cat lmao

Not to the mention the good world building which makes the story very intruging.

There is more than meets the eye, and every twist and turn in the story makes it breath taking and tear jerking.

I like the fact that the personallity are not just 2 dimensional like you descibed at first and there is more layers to them as charcters, which only makes them feel more real and realtable.

I really looked forward to this arc and I am sad to see how messed up and rushed this manwha is turning out to be..

This story deserve more justice and people should stop complaining about the art with their overly high expections of it for real.

i love all their personalities so much, ur right abt what u said abt them not being two dimensional characters bc as time goes on u really genuinely start to get attached to them and love them. i’ve heard so much abt how after volume 7 there’s just straight angst till the end and how everyone is excited (and scared) for that.

also! i’m reading the officials and see that they’re only out till volume 7, but i see a lot of ppl say they’ve already finished the entire novel, it’s too good and i can’t wait so i was wondering if u knew where to read the fan translations or anything after vol 7?

and i thought the art was really good tbh, i’ll be honest i didn’t rly like the art in the first few chapters bc the eyes felt?? copy and pasted into the bg?? if that makes sense, but after that it got really pretty so i don’t see why ppl were complaining abt it. other than them missing huge chunks of arcs from the novel i don’t see what else there is to complain abt.

The art at the begining was realistic which is cool and all, but I didn't like much either because it felt dull and everyone looked the almost the same

RIGHT i would get confused at the start bc they looked the same, and this is my first xianxia manhua and novel so it was even more confusing icl. i didn't even notice it changed more than twice? after the first artist the rest seemed similar and i rly liked them, yeah i think it would be cool if more than one artist worked on this.

but if it continues i hope they don't exclude anything else bc reading the novel MAN they rly missed sooo many important parts i would've loved to see drawn. i heard of 'immortality' and i can't wait until that releases, i just know it'd be as big as untamed, the story is so good.

That's the main reason why this adaption started becoming messy to the point they skipped a whole arc after finding a new artist and returning from hituas..

P.S Immortality for sure will be big with the cators they chose for the main cast . Those are some big names
Not to mention, lou yunxi is an amazing actor ("ashes of love" ect.) and just perfect for chu wanning character
