Anything is possible but based on the dialogue saying they just want him to go to school either he just transfered or didnt go to classes much (or at all) so that would explain why he wouldnt be popular

I think (might be really wrong because the last time I saw genetics was in high school like eight years ago) that he can't be a beta, because Dojin is dominant. He can be only a recessive (since Hye-sung has recessive genes), or recessive alpha or recessive omega, but not beta
