I 100% agree!
Ignore this next part if you don’t wanna hear a mini trauma dump
I feel like I can really relate to the MC. I have a HORRIBLE father who has literally ruined not just mine but my entire families life. The things he’s done would lowkey be some serious lore for story if it were made into one- to give you an idea. But all that said, I still love my dad a lot and cry whenever I think about him. I want him to be healthy and safe.
People can advise and tell you to distance yourself and stop communications but that’s EXTREMELY hard and took me YEARS to do.
That being said, I wish the characters around Sejin had a little more sympathy for where he’s coming from and provide closure rather than just saying “leave them.” It’s way more complicated and deep than that…
he took him from the streets and continue to use him after, he treated sejin like an investment and insurance. then sold him off to the first alpha that asked. being adopted from the streets is not a award winning act of kindness, it's a fvcking bare minimum becuz every homeless child deserves a home. adopting a child isnt done by just taking them home, it's a lifetime responsibility and you need to treat them right be and care for them and love them. sejin's adoptive scum of a father didnt the get the memo.
Uhm of course? Duh. But put yourself in Sejin's shoes for a good 1 minute and you'll realize despite all the horrible things that was done to him, and that he was never adopted out of kindness, he wouldn't be even alive to this day. His identity rests on the fact he was taken away from the streets, regardless of what the intentions were.
That's how to understand why Sejin is still worrying about them instead of hating or letting go like everyone is telling him to do.
Hey. Sorry I only replied now. I hope you are now in a really good place, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Just to share, my dad's the same, not as horrible maybe but it wasn't just my dad but his family - mother (my grandma), siblings - they are all bullies and bullied my mom. But at the end you still have to care for them.
On others having a little more sympathy for Sejin, well nobody knows what Sejin is feeling. None of them can relate because they didn't come from the streets nor have any moment to spare to empathize or try to understand him in his perspective.
Can't help but understand Sejin. Yes it's his father against everyone and they are all correct, he needs to face consequences. But Sejin, he can't help but worry and side with him, after all, he's that one person who took him from the streets and made it possible for him to live upto present day. Everyone is telling Sejin to cut ties to the only 'family' and identity he has. Bruh, that's just hard.
