sorry but i genuinely don’t care about who or how he was in the past because that won’t change what he did in the present so what’s the point in the author showing this…. me personally i couldn’t care less about the antagonists sob backstory

nahh, if you understand the story very well you'll definitely know why this chaptr is necessary. It is for us readers to understand why Haesoo is having a hard time letting go of him because she still remembers how Mincheol wanted her first. (realistically speaking: this happens in real life too so yea...)

This chapter wasn’t meant for us to like him lol it’s showing us the version of Minchoel that Haesoo held onto all these years, why she continued to suffer and forgive him countless of times. This process is the final stage of grieving, which is “acceptance”, then she’ll finally be able to let bro go, but that doesn’t mean she’ll jump into Taeha’s arms lol

Also, showing this side of Minchoel is kinda foreshadowing his horrible downfall once he’s no longer in reach of Haesoo!!! Kinda like remarried empress vibes— which I know will be so sweettttttttt
