Nobody is denying or romanticizing anything. We’re just capable to enjoy a dark story with its dark elements as it is. Having a negative opinion on a story it’s different than what the translator did who spent THE WHOLE STORY trying to convince us that the author is a sick person. That’s targeted harassment. And then they have the guts, audacity, and ARROGANCE to plug a fanfic thinking they’re a better writer than the original? That’s sick. They need help.
Well the author did reveal she was “sick” (in a deeply low mental stage) and that’s why she created this because it was a physical representation of those times and how bad it was, later on she announced she was getting professional help about it (not that any of the readers actually care apparently), and there’s no harm in enjoying things and understanding reality versus a depiction but there’s also a so called thing as a line, bc this is the same criteria as example defending a comic about child r*pe and enjoying reading it, not trying to be a goodie two shoes just fiction is a lot of times a representation of your vision in reality and that says a lot especially if the fandom keeps justifying themselves, like the blind leading the blind, you cannot expect a rightfully controversial story to have haters or people who view it differently

Yeah so I can’t actually link you any source bc I don’t have it, sorry :p but this was back in the day, when the manhwa had just freshly finished, the comments then were flooded with one half of people’s opinions about the ending, and the other half a discussion because the author had left a comment or an announcement smt like that I don’t remember, but the point was that from what I recall, the author revealed that the character Minho was like an escape for her bc she used him to take like a ‘revenge’ on her then ex that she resented and wronged her, so she was making Minho’s character story basically insufferable because it’s what she hoped happened to him, yeah, pretty fucked up if you ask me, so people were very split about the author’s morality and sanity, this was a while ago, sorry for the rant, you can look more into it, I’m sure if you dig deep enough but since the manhwa got so popular they stopped caring about everything else except for the money they could make profiting off of it.
You people in the comments bashing the translator because you know they’re right and it annoys you that some people actually have some sense in them and it and “ruins” the mood, this shit it’s weird AF no wonder you fucked up people like it, like there’s no way in hell minho deserves anything that monster did to him, he had lost complete self awareness and values, of course he’s gonna go back to him, there’s good toxic stories out there that don’t need to reach this level of literal torture and human degradation, not even saw can come up with some fucked up shit like this :3
