Finally! Some sensible comment. the background story is like a way of closure for Hae-Soo. We can see her having a hard time moving on because there was actual love going on in their relationship. It’s like her last stage of grief. I hope she learns to love herself more after this.
It's literally not about micheol or whv his fuckàss name is, it's about why she still has such a hard time distancing herself and why she stayed in that messed up abusive relationship for years, because of these few good years with him in her youth. It's not to humanize him bc we all hate him anyways!!
