It's kinda refreshing that the author doesn't make her into a simple white lotus. Like, she's doing these things because of others (as a pawn) and not because of her own selfish desire (I think?). I haven't finish reading till the latest chapter, but that's how I feel about it. Looking forward how it ends for her.
Adding on, I also like how Deborah doesn't care about other people or how she change the flow of the story novel. She said it herself, she should only care/worry about herself.
