The system is at fault. MC kingdom was too good, so they sabotaged his relationship with ML, by changing what MC heard during his confession.
MC thinks he was rejected, so he left bcs of his broken heart and ML thinks MC left after he confessed his love too and feels betrayed and like MC was just playing with hsi feelings. They'll resolve this soon :)
