it ain't hate, it's valid criticism of her inconsistent characterization and role in the story so it won't break reader's suspension of disbelief. the fact that she's being set up as a potential love interests for MC, who by all intents and purposes is a grown man, the readers expect a certain level of maturity from her. otherwise, she should've been set up in a ward role like kueng is.
they're all mini animals, it's hard to discern age so we base it all on behavior. kueng's mom and the parent bunnies are believable in their role bc their speech pattern and behavior is of an adult parent. theo is beloved despite being immature because he's cast as a sidekick in a mentor-mentee capacity. kueng acts petulant at times and readers fawn because that's what you would expect from a precocious child.
aileen meanwhile is slowly being cast as someone romantically influenced by the MC and it's mentioned a couple of times that she runs the tower so she has her own set of administrative skills. that is NOT a character role written with a child persona in mind. however, you have the author making her behave the same as a child, exhibiting childlike understanding of several concepts that even a sheltered adult can grasp. it just doesn't add up and feels disjointed.

I get your points, and I think they're all valid. But I think at the same time it's safe to say that effort HAS been put forward by her in terms of doing her job and what she needs to do in order to protect the tower. Again, she's being restricted for some reason, so there's only so much she can really do. Not to mention her dragon heart has had her out of commission a handful of times. With both of these things, she's been rather dependent on mc which seems to have made her too comfortable in the entire situation as hes been able to directly and indirectly help her with various tasks. I think she's been doing decently despite her closing out all the windows. Besides, I never said 'criticism' I said 'hate' which I see a few comments doing actually. She knows how to run the tower, shown by her confusion as to why she's being restricted so much, and it isn't as if she herself is running the tower into the ground and/or isn't doing anything at all in terms of trying to fix things. Plus, I think two things can be true at the same time. She can be 'childlike' at times while knowing her place/authority within the tower. Comments like yours are fine because theyre constructive, and I get your points. It's the comments that bash/hate on Aileen simply because she seems to be becoming a romance character for mc as well as this most recent chapter when she's been doing fine for the majority of the time.
It's crazy how it's only this chapter that suddenly sparked the hate. Before then almost everyone was on the same page about romance: how they normally hate it but this one is pretty decent. It's all because of 1 mistake and at the end of the day it's because of sexism. In the past women were constantly dumb and imperfect and now we are making up for it in stories and now when a woman in a story isn't this all powerful perfect character they freak out.
Exactly, I agree. And that's the thing. Aileen IS powerful, and we know this by seeing what her father and grandfather can do, although the attack power may be a weaker. She's also helped mc out on different occasions such as with the blue moon, and giving him rewards as well. Can't we give credit where credit is due instead of throwing it all in the garbage because she made a single dumb mistake? It's frustrating no doubt, but why is this grounds for hating her all of a sudden? If she wasn't being restricted, she would have been doing more than she's been able to do now.
It's more like she was initially decently competent and cute, albert a bit demanding and ignorant. But now they are making her dumber like a child and pushing her to be a romantic interest.
It's like they are nerfing her character just to add some romance Σ( ￣□￣||)
There's always been hints of romance since her introduction.
I think she's still competent. It's just the recent chapter where she made a mistake and there's just more signs of her being a romantic interest. Not to mention she just woke up from a pretty long rest, and knowing that, she was in a rush to check the situation with mc and the others. It was a laspe of judgement that may or may not have consequences down the line which is obvious, but is she all of a sudden not allowed to make mistakes and have her bad moments? I mean I also wish she checked the notifications, but I still like her as a character. She isn't a dumb, weak, useless female character and/or lead and I don't think she's turning into one. She's always going to have the responsibility of being the tower manager and despite what she did, she very much cares about the tower
I will not tolerate any Aileen hate she just made a one mistake, it's fine. Plus she's SICK and she also did try to previously do something but the tower didn't allow her.
