Fr! We were so young and brainwashed into thinking these tropes was romantic when it was toxic. ML is a pos and was irredeemable but somehow the Mc forgives him. Like dude, he raped you.
I read this as dumb teen back then and things like the toxicity/r*pe = love tropes was romanticized, normalized and acceptable at the time. Now rereading as an adult made me realized how much I have grown and mature.
