meant to downvote.. i disagree with your opinion. in any relationship, you need to have trust in your partners. the first thing to do is communicate, which garam didn’t even want to it. i’m not saying that jaehyuk is innocent. we all now his past but he’s been trying to now-self into someone who is better. his past shouldn’t define who he now , as he’s clearly trying to make an active change. plus, wanting validation isn’t a bad thing, most people want it. i understand how jaehyuk feels. with the treatment garam as given him with the avoiding and the ignoring, and now they’re in a relationship with no language affection from him, it can be hard to honest jaehyuk. he is very open about his feelings towards garam. seems like garams issue with that is due to his past trauma due to an old relationship. communicating the reason why he has a hard time is the right choice. but he chooses to push it back which just causes jaehyuk to feel like he doesn’t like him. many people seek validation from their lover, it’s normal. it’s hard to blame him for that.
I agree with you on most of the things you wrote- personally tho I think jaehyuk isn’t truly narcissistic, just rather callous because it’s the first time he’s feeling real feelings instead of playing around. But we can come to that conclusion because we see his POV- see him fall in love, realise he’s being a jerk, trying to be better, etc- Garam isn’t privy to all of that, he only sees jaehyuk being more decent and kind (well, in comparison to his viciously homophobic self a while back lol) but he doesn’t know the depth of jaehyuk’s feelings, or whether it’s sincere due to the nature of how their relationship began.
A lot of what you’re saying is true, but Jaehyuk isn’t exactly a reliable when it comes to himself. He has a tendency to internally justify, make excuses for, and conveniently gloss over important details of the selfish stuff he does. He may have feelings now, but his initial motivation was to emotionally charm a Garam for the sole purpose of being able to have sex with him
True to form, even after a serious misunderstanding that left their entire relationship at risk, Jaehyuk is still more focused on the validation he feels from Garam’s distress/betrayal when he thought he’d been cheated on than actually comforting and alleviating Garam’s distress.
Jaehyuk is a major player, has been mostly straight, and has made degrading comments to Garam about his sexuality in the past. Under those circumstances it’s entirely reasonable for Garam to assume he’s cheating. And even when his relationship is imploding and his partner is in severe distress, he’s still only thinking about himself.
Even the original fight was about him being offended that Garam was not progressing in the relationship (thus providing higher levels of emotional gratification) fast enough. Any jerk can say “I love you”, but it takes time for someone to be ready to feel and say it.
