For everyone asking why sehan (ML) became really cold to chaon (MC)
As we know, Sehan already is extremely emotionally manipulative with how he uses his guilt against chaon, who has a really strong guilty conscience because he blames himself for Sehan getting stabbed. In earlier chapters, we saw how Sehan smiled when chaon touched his scar during sex and flinched, clearly enjoying the control and impact he has over chaon.
First, he uses chaon’s guilt against him for sex and to push chaon’s boundaries. Now, he’s “pulling away” and “mistreating” chaon to create an addictive, confusing chemical response in chaon. I forgot what it’s called, but it’s an emotional rollercoaster where Sehan being normal nice becomes an amazing thing, and him being abusive is confusing and makes chaon crave affection even more. Sehan’s also doing a thing where “absence builds affection,” so chaon craves anyone’s presence, mainly his as he’s been with chaon for so long.
As a character, because of his guilt complex and very often disregarded boundaries, chaon is very vulnerable to staying in abusive relationships because he’s used to his boundaries being stepped all over & likely would stay w sehan due to a sense of responsibility despite the abuse. Chaon seems very empathetic so I’d assume he would assume that sehan was angry because he almost hurt himself, not because sehan has bad intentions.
TLDR; sehan is an abusive emotionally manipulative shit who is lovebombing then withholding affection from chaon to make him more attached and vulnerable
