There are a few characters who're as smart as him and at least one of the them is even better than him, when it's about "the ability to adapt". So those are not the reasons why he's the MC, it's because the author decided to go with him, in the main version. So the concept is like everywhere else, MC wins. But here it's really only, that he wins because he's the MC, not because he's really as good or even better than all the others or at least has a "special ability" that only belongs to him. It's obvious that talented players will be used to make him look better, than he really is and that's a waste

When did I ever say MCs have be weak? My point is that looking at pure ability, natural talent and potential many of the characters are better than the MC here, like that him winning all the time makes no sense. Which means, he only wins because of "MC protection", not because he's strong, so if I would want a "weak" MC I'd love him.
But I think it's better to have an MC who really is stronger or at least can become stronger in a reasonable way than the others with time. But here that won't happen, because the MC doesn't have "that one ability", only he has, that makes him special.
Instead as I said before many other characters are just as smart as him and play better, so the only reasonable way for him to become better than them, would be they all stop training and he's the only one who continues.
I would've dropped it already, because all in all it's not as good as other sport series, but many of the characters still have an interesting story, so I continue for them

I didn't say yes to the sad backstory thing, I said it to your "also aint no way u said he only wins bc hes the mc", because I said it and I mean it. As for the backstory, sad or not I don't care, but at least most of the characters aside form the MC have a real backstory.
As for the rest you said, if you don't get my point, just admit, or If you get it and run our of arguments to defend your favorite MC, who you maybe even relate to just say so, because it's obvious either way. People always start to make it "personal" calling others stupid etc. as soon as they don't have arguments left.
No matter what you say, my opinion won't change. The MC is nothing special and if he wouldn't be the MC, there wouldn't be a chance that he'd ever be able to win against the others in a fair game. And no, that's Not how all other sport series go as well, just go watch/ read them and If you understand it you'll notice the difference.

if they’re smart as him, as you claim. Isagi wouldn’t have been able to beat them. That’s just that. There’s a lot of great players here but Isagi’s evolving and adapting to every situation in real time, in the exact game. Even Ego knows how good Isagi is at reading everyone and every situation. He knows how to respond to their strengths and weaknesses then predict their next move, manipulating them. If you don’t see that, I’ll recommend you to reread this from the start
