i'd argue that they are both manipulative, but i haven't seen anything from the new guy yet except him trying to befriend mc for some ulterior motives we don't know yet. and i'm gonna be so honest, white hair guy is barely helping like i don't think mc would approve of people getting tortured like this - and it's not even like a satisfying torture tbh
i wouldn't say barely helping he got rid of bullies who would rape and drive people to suicide along with a child molester
and also stopped his sister from getting raped sure he has ulterior motives just like this new guy but atleast theres that lol
well yeah he is helping but i meant in a way that isn't really idk right? i'm all for revenge stories but this one is kinda boring since he's like an all powerful god and the torture methods don't give me the satisfaction so maybe i'm biased. but i really feel like he is doing it for himself and not mc, and that in itself might just be manipulative and selfish.
i get what ur saying but i feel if this was soley about him doing it for himself why help his sister with something so mundane as studying just so the mc doesn't have to do it its even a one on one sesh he didn't rope mc into it to spend time eith him too but solely so that the mc doesn't have to fo through that trouble along with walking his sister home
i totally get ur point with the torture methods tho but i also think its done in such a cruel way on purpose so that not even the readers feel that satisfaction that one would feel in a revenge manga to show how merciless this guy is and inhumane and how he'll stop at nothing just to get what he wants and please the guy thats prob a god in his eyes
i see what you mean with walking her home because obviously that was for mc, but the way i interpreted the studying bit was that he was trying to get inside mcs house maybe that's just me tho
ohhh wait you read white hair very well, but i also feel like the satisfaction part is so important in revenge stories because i feel like that's what most people are looking for. like we are waiting for the part where we can finally feel relief after seeing everything that is done to mc, but you made a really good point
