I really do appreciate you ranting about this I was curious about this story as well! But of course there’s rape in it and of course there’s people always defending and getting butt hurt like children that we have an opinion/don’t like rape between the ml and mc… these people get off on rape and hate that we don’t romanticize it/get off on it like they do.

I come in peace. Just wanted to clarify and give food for thought.... Lou isn't mentally a 10 year old. It's that he only has the education and mannerisms of a 10 year old at the age of 20. Think of the difference between an adult with the mental disability who cannot learn or function past that of a 10 year old, versus a 10 year old who survived in his own in a forest for ten years. His mind functions as an adult. He just didn't get the fine tuning people get like editing what they say to the situation. I do agree that his trauma heavily weighs on him, but it's not like Kenny ignored it and just started jumping his bones. Kenny repeatedly said no and gently made boundaries for Lou to stop his advances. Kenny only gave in once Lou clearly stated his understanding of consent and what it means to be intimate. Their relationship is far from perfect and I get you having fault with them, but they can't be held to today's understanding of trauma and mental health. This story takes place about a 100 years ago. I hope you are able to give them a little grace. Kenny did the best he could with the knowledge he had.
Raman and Yexing... I don't think Shahid is a monster but I do not deny he's messed up in big ways. I was quite disappointed in him seeing that. I felt grateful when Kenny punched him because it felt like I got to punch him too. I can understand a bit how it happened, and I can understand how/why Yexing forgave him.

I might not agree with everything, but I understand your perspective and totally respect it. I just tend to have a very low tolerance and patience for BS. I wish some people could have the amount of maturity you have shown in your reply. I do try to give the benefit of the doubt to see the characters progress, but if a certain amount of chapters go by with no change to one's actions and words. I think you would understand that it does get tiring and a bit repetitive. I've read a lot of mangas/manwhas over the years that contained the same trope that it all blended together with me, and I think I hit my breaking point with this. It's a good thing I took a break from this to gather all my thoughts.

I get the burn out. I've been there lately myself, so I get how it blends together and it's like- all these characters suck!! I get it... Trust me. I think I'm able to give this story some grace because it's helped me heal from my own trauma. I've referenced it a lot in therapy. But no worries. It's totally cool if you disagree with everything.
