it’s not, it seems like reeze and cliff get off scott free but reeze cant change her nature and starts stirring up drama again. she manages to offend the royal family and gets sent to the monastery, having to live the rest of her life without a man lolol. cliff also feels guilty afterwards and marries a woman nothing like reeze so there you go.
I think Cliff dealing with Reeze's drama for years was punishment enough.

He chose to be with her though, and he didn’t even want to divorce too. He was forced to by the emperor. Cliff got the least amount of punishment simply cause he’s the brother of the ML and heir of the duke. He only said a simple sorry to Edith in the end of the side story

It would be nice if Cliff has to give up his position to MC
and normally I also like it when the stories are the same. But I read somewhere that in the novel Cliff and Reeze are getting away without a proper punishment and if that's true then it's really disappointing. I want to see them suffer badly (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
