he didnt drink poison, what he drank was a cure developed specifically to work against SaYoung's poison. He's mentioned it before, but his entire body contains very potent poison, especially his blood. He gave him the antidote to make sure he doesnt get killed by his poison when they sign the blood pact
And why didn't it work?
Bc his poison is very strong, he make mc drink the antidote, he was expecting it was enough, but it end up not enough but he have the second liquid if the first didn't work. If I remember right the antidote was made specifically for this so he couldn't have it properly tested.

it functions generally sinxe its specifically made to treat sayoung's poison and iirc its made in batches by the dr guy's guild.
my only explanation is that either the skill took priority when clearing the poison so he can gain immunity, or that the skill cleared the antidote from his body before he could make contact with sayoungs blood
this is never explained, ig its just so euijae is immune to sayoung from now on anyway
It didn't work because Mc already has immunity to poisons and any poisons he comes in contact with his abilities will counteract the poisons

its also slightly funny cos in the novel euijae calls out that the second liquid given was unnecessary since it was mostly after his skill had detoxified the poison, so he just wasted expensive medicine lolol
Yeah, I remember something like that, I don't know exactly, but I know the purple liquid antidote was mentioned more than just once.
I miss this part when mc mentioned that second liquid was unnecessary and was expansive and rare, bc it's show us that the mc was important and especial for ml and the mc was kind... I don't know how word I could use so... he was kind annoyed(?) That ml wasted a rare potion on him since he could detoxified on his own
So it's basically a plot hole, if it's specifically made for his poison there is no reasonable explaination why it didn't work on mc, unless his body saw the potion as a treath and nullified it
The antidote didn't work because the poison was already being neutralized as he was ingesting the antidote.. it was basically a waste to use on him
We are not talking about the one he gave mc in a hurry after spitting blood, but the potion he gave him before everything. Had it worked normally the poison would have been neutralized already, withouth the activation of his skill
