I was hoping at some point the shitty ML would put off the FL and he would actually have to grow as a person and not act like a 5 year old bullying his crush but my god, we are 38 chapters in and ML is still just as trash as he was in the first chapter. I hope SOMEONE likes this kind of ML, i hope that this story is fun for them, but i am ENDLESSLY frustrated. this isn't even a slow burn we are not even at candle temperatures yet
I feel like this archetype male lead is just in line with most male leads of romance manga. And I don't mind; it just gets stale after reading several similar stories.
The ML is honestly really lucky that our MC is this strong-willed. If any other person were in their place, the disappointment and the constant jokes that sometimes hit a little too hard would make many unmotivated. Constantly second place, your opponent making fun of you with a smirking face you want to punch. He is literally setting parts of you on fire.
Even if it's a joke, if she didn't have ice magic, would she be able to fight back? Though, I suppose that's the point. But if the author even created a story in the plot about a small spirit of ice and fire, who are good friends, every time they touched, they'd hurt each other... but would still do so anyway...
It's not exactly the most significant message. At some point, if being just near someone causes problems, pain or inconveniences no matter what you do, I feel it makes more sense to cut it off.
