I think his character is interesting, he's got internalised (but very obvious) homophobia despite being gay himself, and is projecting onto Ai and Nao.

contrary to everyone’s opinion about him, i like how he’s written. it’s realistic and outside of the whole sexuality crisis he got going on, people who has his miserable attitude loves projecting that onto others who are currently at peace in their lives
Yes exactly!! I rarely see those kinds of characters in BL's so it's a nice change of pace
